Mike Page?????
Mike hasn't posted here for a year. He is, I think, our oldest member -- or close.
Has anyone heard from him?

Re: Mike Page?????
Nothing has been posted on Mike's Facebook page since 30th October 2012. That doesn't look good!

Re: Mike Page?????
Well, most of us old guys get bored by the inanities of Facebook, so that's not too surprising. But he liked to show us his rather quirky -- but very interesting trees. The fact that that has stopped is bothersome.
This was brought up because someone revived an old post of his on B-Nut and I realized we hadn't seen him for a while.
I've left a query on his club website.

Re: Mike Page?????
I got a welcome response:
Hi Jim
Yes Mike and his wife Cathi were both at the Sei Boku Bonsai Kai monthly meeting last Wednesday. Mike is slowing down a bit but still enjoys bonsai and has his dry sense of humor ! He hosts our Electric Termites Bonsai Club as well. We meet for brunch one Sunday a month and then gather in his garage to do tree maintenance and create beauty with power tools ! :) I will mention you queried. Is the Internet Bonsai Club interested in more members? I manage our website as well and would love to refer folks to your organization if that is appropriate.
Thanks

Excellent on all counts. Ask Randi to refer as many as he can! So glad that Mike is still enjoying bonsai.

I'm very glad that Mike is still enjoying breathing. So many good people have disappeared from the scene over the last couple of years I have been afraid Mike was going to be one of them when everything became known. Very glad to be wrong.

Re: Mike Page?????
Thank you Jim for noticing and inquiring about Mike’s absence here! He has been and hopefully will continue to be a mainstay of IBC.
His unique vision is both an inspiration and an instigation. But for me, I enjoy his constancy. For decades I have watched as he posted and showed tree after tree. They seemed to confound the “bonsai cognoscenti” as odd, not in the “this” or “that” style, but to the casual viewer they were inspiring. Perhaps not as real trees – but as poetic abstractions of trees.
He has remained true to his own vision of bonsai through both great praise and great criticism. For that I can offer nothing more that respect and thankfulness.
With all the best to Mike! I hope to see posts here from you soon, and if not, then happiness to you and yours!

Re: Mike Page?????
This is great news, indeed....I have missed Mike's posts and like others have wondered about his well being. His work has always served as an inspiration to me and I am sure to others as well.
Thank you, Jim, for your efforts.
