Count down to repotting - 2nd Jan.2014
Yeah Folks,
just 3 more days and I get to have fun for about 6 weeks, and more refrigeration - Wahooooo!!!
Actually I have already done three pines. They now have larger concrete and bonsai pottery pots.
Cleared the resting area and no sunlight for that zone until the 26th of February. Yes, I have a notebook with the date the sun returns.
I can also check the results on the air-pot versus the normal plastic pot. Plus, I have colanders to experiment with and smart pots.
This is Christmas for me!!
Laters tutti.
Khaimraj
* Now we pray that the rain does not return and dry season starts properly. Pray, pray, pray.

Yvonne,
here you go, side by side.
The two pieces of brown tape show the soil level at the top and the bottom of the soil in the air-pot.
I tried to make the soil volume for both - 10 x 10 x 10 cm [ 4 x 4 x 4 "]
Tamarinds - naturally - hee hee
Both trees are the same age, from seed.
Test started - probably January's end. I think I left an earlier image of just the tamarind in the air-pot.
How do you like my earthenware pottery air-pot for more tests?
Until.

Yvonne,
chuckle, the air-pot [ black spacey thing ] is coming out of Scotland.
Do you need the direction on Youtube to see how and why?
The brown earthenware pot is a test to see if it will perform like an air-pot [ the black spacey thing].
Happy New Year!!!

Whoa, finally getting some time to type and having the hand strength to do so.
I have a heavy duty secauters, and kinda went crazing cutting some roots for 3 days. Ended up with the ring on my right hand [ normally a little loose ] squeezing the finger.
Happily back to normal.
Well since I had no real way to prove just how little soil was in that air-pot, I chose to just go ahead and open. Boy, was I impressed, so much so, I put the tamarind back in for another year, and the full length of the air-pot.
There were roots everywhere, but not circling around the container.
I also decided to try a J.B.pine as well, at the full length of the air-pot.
Will speak again one year from today.
Now to test the - smart pot.
Later.
