Ice curling is very popular here in Minnesota. Looks just like one of the stones they use in this sport.

Lol! when I first looked at it I thought SNAKE! But it really does look like the object used in Ice curling. How Kool is that! Smile

This may sound ridiculous but here goes.
When I saw it, the first thing I thought was it looked like a tank. Especially the Tiananmen Square tank. A figurine placed on the left would seal that deal for me. lol

Patypus? <...CHORTLE...>  At first blush, it seems a worthwhile, lively image slightly beyond recognition.  When identified as a "platypus," it is both recognizable & warmly charming.

I was thinking of the Japanese notion of tsukumogami/animated"tool spirits"--  utensils that become alive & self-aware when approaching a hundred years of age.  Admittedly, no specific tool came to mind & I dismissed commenting until teased forward by your platypus, Russell.

Offered with a grain of tongue-in-cheek... :-)

How about a mochi kine (mallet) and the stone bowl...(forgot the japanese name)
