This is the group in 2011.

I took them apart and spaced them out a bit and spread the roots on a flat stone . When they get taken out of the training pot if i don't like them on the stone then at least they will have a good root spread.

This is the group now.

Thanks Daniel. They are all single trees . I first got them as seedlings. Hopefully in the end they will look fully connected sitting on a flat stone .
I like to start from simple beginnings as it pushes you to make something interesting from it. I'm not knocking big yamadori but sometimes i see it a bit as cheating, its so easy to dig up an old tree and there you have something amazing already.
I try to make good out of what i have available .

I like very much the way the roots entangle. And I also like the angles at which the trees are to each other, it takes a lot of thought to get that right. This'll look great on a slab!

I think this forrest has a nice future ahead in you hands. Two years and it has improved tremendously. Like Judy, i love how roots appear.
Good stuff.

I love how you styled your forest. I am amazed at how fast your larches are growing; from sticks to convincing forest with age in two years time - great job!

Style raft or woods are my favorite. I think that in the future this will give your work a lot of satisfaction in the field of bonsai. ThumbsUp

Thanks Gasper ans Todd.

My wife laughed at me yesterday Daniel as i turned to her and remarked how i thought this was going to be a really good tree in 20 years . Very Happy
I do understand that these small beginnings can become something great after a long time ,even if i'm not here. A lot of the Japanese great trees were started like this.
