No leaves showing Autumn colour yet in my garden,
But I took these pics yesterday, the Malus I've had quite a few years now,
a good crop of apples this year.
Maybe someone out there knows the variety?
Hope I got the pics uploaded ok ....

Do you have some kind of a nail fetish, Will? Since you asked, my nails are clean because I have a damaged immune system and wash my hands quite often. Sorry it seems to bother you so.

Maybe John should be offended . . .

Jim,. Im sure you have a very fine pair of hands. Fetish maybe a bit strong but I do like rugged, earthy, manly, work hardened hands. Caloused, blistered, cracked and leathery. Dirty, dirty, dirty hands..................Oh dear ! Did I say that out loud?

Hey, I got thicker skin than that, no offense taken.

Actually Kev, no, Potting tends to clean hands real good,
them's repotting fingers, blackbirds went mad and turfed soil out
of a few pots, as I recall I was sorting those out when the colour
of the apples prompted me to take pics, didn't notice the fingers till I looked at pictures,
and then I realised I had no idea of the variety.
It was bought from an importer several years ago, so presumably a Japanese variety?
anyone knows, I'd be grateful.

Will, strange thoughts going round your head..... Smile

Hi John... nice 'little' tree... is this the start of your 'I'm going to make my bonsai collection smaller' as in Smaller trees Suspect

I have never been a fan of the 'Monster' bonsai that have been the fashion of late... keep 'em small.

Will... you dark horse... a man with a Hand partialism Twisted Evil

Hi John,
Lovely little tree sir, very much my cup of tea Very Happy

I'm in the same boat as you re Autumn Colour here in the Costa-del-Kent . So much so that at our Club meeting on Monday was almost a total wash out with trees showing their late season best.

Really looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks and no I won't be bringing a single Cotoneaster with me, I'm trying out some "big boys trees" affraid

See ya soon,
Okk, Okk,
Simon

PS
How's your "Island" planting looking?????

Hi Simon,
thanks, yes, it's also been to warm in my garden for any colour yet,
I'm in Switzerland now, getting ready for Expo.
Lots of autumn colour here, and rain to.

The "island" you mean the display at Sheffield BTA?

Probably Malus sieboldii - kaido

Beautiful tree! One of the few things I miss about living somewhere with a real winter!
