Hello Will,

Beautiful tree. When I see trees posted here from tropical places around the world that are amazing makes me appreciate this tree even more. It is full of character and reminds me of wild woods. It evokes emotion within me, very wild, very ancient. Developing branches from scratch with our unpredictable temperate climate takes some patience, and what a terrible wet season it has been. Congratulations Mr Baddeley, I love your tree and the carving detail is just magnificent.

Evening to All,
Marcus,

you know, it's specimen trees like your's that keep me on my toes and ever on the look for a tropical version.Even though this island is mostly Amazonian [ large leaves, very few branches ] we have areas of scrub, and once in a while you will find something to work with.

Now if I could only find something that beautiful in red ------sigh ------------- envy, envy, envy.

Maples do grow here, with the aid of a refrigerator, but oh to find something local....................
Thanks very much for showing.

hi all,

its funny how we all get a little zone envy, wish for slightly warmer, or slightly cooler, weather etc - Very Happy. I always think "if it was hotter & drier i could develop the black pines quicker, but then the maples would need more care! and the way the indonesians can dig up a huge trunk with virtually no roots, plant them up and get foliage everywhere ! that would make deciduous bonsai quicker for sure.

Khaimraj - this may not be possible where you are from but I do this a lot.....visit actual real gardens that are open to the public - the beautiful ones that have gardeners and collections.......While walking round I am always looking at the trunks, leaves etc to spot suitable species - this is more relyable than walking in nature as far more unusual species exist in the formal gardens - in Gambia it was the hotels that had excelent gardens.

cheers Marcus

Here is my entry,

My Deshojo which I bought last winter. The picture is from this spring with shows the nice red springcolor. It's not the brightest Acer I have but nonetheless beautifull to see. Hope you like it.
