Lichen on Bark
I have an old Ponderosa with very aged bark. Some of the bark areas have lichen on them (I am not sure if they are alive or dead). In my opinion, lichens make the bark look even more older... I love it especially because it makes it look natural as well.
I want to know from IBC experts whether it is okay to leave the lichen on the bark or not. I know that moss will gradually cause bark rot and decay, but I don't know about lichens.
Thanks.
