Bonsai peddled on the streets
I saw this on my way to the office this morning. Took out my phone and snapped these pics, I was going to ask for an ID of the plant but the traffic lights turned to green. I know the styling could be better but I didn't buy because I wasn't sure if the individual trunks will fuse. They sell for about 500-800 pesos or 16-80 US$, Quite cheap considering the amount of effort this guy poured into his little creations. Pretty decent material, Imho, if the trukns will fuse. I see small blue or violet blooms, does anyone know its ID?

There is an older guy here in my city I have seen a few times in the last 9 years. He walks around with a trolley loaded with about 12-15 bonsai. Since I started bonsai I have never seen him again.

It is very interesting how theese very new bonsaitrees is being made...maybe 100 trees in one pot, are supposed to fuse, and become one.
Very interesting...thanks for sharing.
Kind regards Yvonne

Re: Bonsai peddled on the streets
In my area I've seen bonsai for sale that were started in this or similar way. At the age at which I saw them, they had fused to the extent that only the outlines of the major braids were visible. The very thin material in each coil or braid had fused almost completely. They were imported, from China or Taiwan, I'm not sure which.but I didn't buy because I wasn't sure if the individual trunks will fuse.
