collecting slash pine
here in Naples slash pines are everywhere and as I have 17 tropical bonsai trees in my collection, I want to pursue the slash pine. There are a number of specimens that are 2-3 feet tall in my surrounding area that I can obtain. What is the best way to collect them? Can I chop the top to make them shorter? Can I dig them up in late September? I want a real fat trunk on a young tree. They are numerous here and the weather is sub tropical all year round. Any advice?
