Vote for the best front Please
Hi Everyone where ever you may be
A member of Wirral bonsai is seeking help and Guidance as to picking the BEST FRONT for his TREE
In the members own words " It's a box tree. It used to be in a pot styled into a spiral bush. It's twenty years old. That's about all I can say about it
Please Please select by NUMBER what you think is the best front for this tree and AN HONEST FEEDBACK would be Appreciated
I am posting these images this way as I don't know how to conduct a poll vote so hope this is ok
so here goes
A MASSIVE
ALL MESSAGES and votes will be passed on to the member of Wirral Bonsai Society
take care and keep Smiling

Re: Vote for the best front Please
Am not really attracted to any of these. But at this stage (needs work) would probably choose #1. Will be interesting what this group prefers.

Maybe you might consider just asking for general improvement suggestions than asking people to vote? Just a thought.

Re: Vote for the best front Please
1,2,5 and 6, the big, one-sided root is distracting. 4,5,and 8 show a horrible reverse taper. 3 has a nice root base but the far right 2nd trunk (?) I don't like. The big cut where another trunk was removed needs a lot of work. 3,4,5,6,and 8 I don't care for the second trunk at the base (7& 8 the trunk is acceptable but with work.) The process of elimination seems to leave me with #7 being the best but #3 seems to have the most appeal to me. I would remove the base trunk and reduce the removed trunk and distracting cut. Good luck.

Re: Vote for the best front Please
Thelad,
IMHO, I think I vote for no. 7 wherein you can do bonsai style options .You can descide in the near future as the plant developes if slanting, semi cascade or double trunk... just a thought!!...
Best regards,

Re: Vote for the best front Please
Sorry if I have overlooked it, but is there any indication of the height of this plant? Can we also assume that the owner is going for an informal upright as IMHO different styles might affect which front we selected. Just MHO.

I would go with 6 for the fact it hides the reverse taper
