Hi IBC.

I can't find old thread with the raw material of this tree.
Anyhow, I restyled and wire my cascade Casuarina for the second time and here it is. This is just after 3 years (I think) of training .

Woah! Great material and impressive styling as always. I keep wondering where you get all these great material. Question Inspiring work sir Jun. BTW, are you gonna use any wood treatment for the dead wood?

Cheers!

Jun, great work as usual - going to be a beautiful cascade one day.

Placing the branches on a cascade is still very difficult to me - mine always does not look right!

Good work.

Best,

Thanks Dorothy!

I'll try to get a photo from that angle. but the picture posted would be the viewing angle of the tree, It would be placed in a higher than normal pedestal.

People,
Are you not wondering why we are always viewing cascade from the side and not slightly from a bit under? Cascade most of the time in nature are seen from this angle...
Just asking.

I got the materials where you all get your materials I can guarantee( I hope hehe)  you, none of your trees would look the same.
Yes, I am using lime sulfur. It is not a preservative though,,,but I like the smell. Laughing

Lennard,

Thanks!

just keep practicing, you'll get it sooner than you think. I also find Cascade as one of the most difficult to style. One of the tips I am following -is follow the movement and character of the material.
Just like other styles, cascade should not look all the same.

That is a really good revelation. Come to think of it, we most definitely see it in that perspective. These are the reasons why I love this forum.

Hello Jun,

Your Casuarina cascade is developing very nicely.

It looks quite different then it did back in March.

Your attention to detail has produced a tree with a great deal of character.  It speaks to me on many levels.

I agree with your assessment of how a cascade should be viewed.  Placing it above eye level allows the viewer to experience a cascade tree as nature would present it.

Thanks for sharing.

Salamat po.

Cheers,
Paul
