bracket fungus
Hi, While watering my bonsai I noticed several trunk growths on a small cherry tree near my bonsai benches. A website calls them smokey bracket fungus , here is how they look but smaller:

My question is what fungicide to use and how to handle the brackets. The "experts" want it left up to them but since I've had some experience using fungicides in the many years I've been in bonsai, I'd prefer to handle this (10ft) yard tree myself because it seems to be only on the lower part of the trunk. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Norma

Re: bracket fungus
I don't think there is any "cure."

Bracket Fungus
This is a systemic disease. The brackets are fruiting bodies (like mushrooms). The tree is dying. Get rid of it before something else is infected.
