Hello Mr Liu
China is a big place. Why are people reluctant to say where they live. Is it a secret? I can understand that some wants to hide their age, as if we won't know. hihihihi
I don't understand your stone. Is it Petrified wood ? It doesn't look like it.
Is it suppose to look like Jesus. Is it your stone?
Love and light

Thanks for sharing, Mr. Liu. Welcome to the Internet Bonsai Club (IBC) stone forum.
Can you explain why the book is pictured prominently with the stone?
Thanks, again.

This is not the same characters as for Bible in Japanese 聖書 Seisho、but the second character is Kyou/Kei in Japanese and reserved for sacred text. 経 When I was a missionary in Japan the Book of Mormon was titled モルモン経 (Mormon Kei) in the beginning in 1993, but when the new translation came out in 1995 it was retranslated to a more modern モルモン書 (Mormon Sho)Chris Cochrane wrote:Can you explain why the book is pictured prominently with the stone?
My guess is that it is the Chinese characters for Bible, but need OP's confirmation.

sorry lately reply.
Yes, China is a very big country, but many people here. salary here not high, but recent 12years, house price in China increase much..... like in Beijing, Shanghai city, almost 30000-50000 Cina Yuan (US$5000-US$8000) per square meter. apartment, not villa . land belongs to government ,the only seller of land. but I think the now price has huge bubble.
the stone is my, it is petrified wood. around 80kg. natural shape . thank you for your comment.

Hello Mr Liu
Your stone is very interesting to me! The nice material, shape, size and shine.
But so is the Chinese Bible! looks old and used often for many years.
The subject and image are comforting and familiar to me as well.
I have been told by others that religion and suiseki can not coexist as one.
I find this hard to understand! because IMHO the rocks!, and us! were Heavenly created!
Even the blind can see this! why the separation?
I am very interested in your point of view traditional or otherwise...

Re: fossil wood Jesus- my collection
Hi Stonelife
you may have a interesting stone, but when I try to find the Jesusfigure in it, am I completely lost...the photos of Jesus is soft and rounded, and your stone is rough...looking more like a giant troll to me.
It is not a problem to have religion in suiseki...Daruma is wellknown, and there are a few more...Persons is common in the japanese classification, but not bodyparts...a face, a leg, or a back is not what you find in the classifications...in your case we see the whole person, and that is good.
It is not a problem to see Jesus in a stone, as long as it is the Whole person...to me, is this the western good use of traditionel japanese classifications.
Kind regards Yvonne

Re: fossil wood Jesus- my collection
I agree fully, but I didn't want to say it, for I didn't want to criticize Stonelife, or discourage him to post more 'Beloved Stones' , but now its open season... hihihihihihi
I see more of Edvard Munch painting 'The Scream' in it than Jesus. It also looks to rough for me to be Jesus. More Mohammed, for he was a Warlord wasn't he?
I also can't believe that it is petrified wood, for I can't see any grain or resemblance of wood in it. Where does it came from and who told you it was a fossil, just for interest sake? The stone itself looks like a sedimentary stone ( soft) rather that metamorphic.
Stonener I just noticed that you don't even mention the Country that you live in. ( I know where you live, but for others sake...) I'm saying this because I took on Stonelife for not mentioning his home town... Is there a reason for this?
Love and light

Hi Stonelife
I dont know about Mohammed....But you had the biggest warlord of all times in China, and the stones shape could very well be the great Guan Yu...Cinese stone, chinese daiza...can it be better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guan_Yu
Kind regards Yvonne

OK Dre!
Done as you asked, was not so important to me reason and I over looked it when first joining IBC.
Bro I too agree that most new persons can feel offended by confrontational questions or responses! as I first was.
Maybe a kinder more neutral reply would help persons feel a little more welcomed! instead of harshly chased away.
Would greatly help if comments were presented as questions and not critical statements which are shocking and unfriendly!
Especially those new unaware members, who are not familiar with harsh opinionated so called experts on this forum...
Ms Yvonne!
Even thou you have asked me not to further communicate with you! for what ever reasons you think?
I still would like to Thank You for your opinions, even if I don't always agree! I feel it is very important,
to be able to express differences freely in this open forum...
And would at this same time like to ask you! about "the hand of Buddha" familiar well known body part!
used and referred to in so many religious ways...
Can you tell us a little more about how used and why so important in oriental culture, as a God part?
Hello Again Mr Liu
Thank You for sharing your Jesus stone with forum, I am thinking it is one you are very proud of.
Do you have others that you can share with us which you also think interesting or unique stones.
In the picture of your shop many others can be seen in the background...

Re: fossil wood Jesus- my collection
It does take a strong person to be new and old, to any written forum...it is seen again and again.
Direct questions is being looked at as unfriendly ( and there can be rare occations), and people can be hurt...the only thing there is to do, is to continue the conversation, and you get to learn people, and their way of talking, ( it can be problems with written English) ...most people are honest, and like a little joke, and dont want to expose you, and does not get personal..know were to draw the line
When I first saw the stone in this topic, was my first thought..."is this a poor joke, if I was more christian would I maybe be hurt, seeing Jesus shown like that"...so, hurt has many faces...and only the continue of the conversation will tell...maybe we need to hear a reply from the new member....I dont think it was a insult, but I would like a another reply
When I read people accuse, other people of being so called experts, when they only share there opinions, am I so put off.
I am also put off by people, who again and again, have shown their readers, they need to step on one person to please a another person.
Kind regards Yvonne

As if you took the words right out of my mouth!
That is exactly! how I feel about what you have said!...
So again I ask you! would you tell us about "the hand of Buddha"?
Because you said never use body parts! Now tell us why not?...
No need to be strong! on this or any other forum!, just kind and considerate!
Once read that "The meek shall inhert the earth"...
