Post  NeilDellinger Sun Nov 14, 2010 10:05 pm

Does anyone know a good place in the US to get good bonsai carving bits for a dremmel? Most everywhere is in the UK, nothing on e-bay.

Thanks,
Neil

Why not visit your local Lowe's, Home Depot or Ace Hardware. If everything is too far, check out the Ace Hardware online site.

For quick, cleaning carving in live wood, I do not think you could do better than the Foredom "Typhoon Burs" which have aligned teeth that greatly reduce the need for cleaning http://www.foredom.net/18shank.aspx. I use the coarse (red-colored rather than blue) bits for carving daiza, too. While cutting aggressively, the finish of the carving is surprisingly smooth.

Thanks Will for the plug.
Yes, Neil, I'm your USA man,
but of course you could pay shipping and insurance from Europe to get Dremel-type stuff imported to Europe from the USA.
get some prices, then get back to me, you'll see what I mean.
