cassurina air layering

hello friends
can any one guide me to air layer cassurina plant
last year i tried in july being rainy season roots did come out but it did not survive
stem below 1 inch became a success when tried in feb and march . but when tried for a stem above say 2 inch the roots come out but they did not survive when potted in a container

Gooddday, I have very good result in layering casuarina. Two mounds ago I did 3 layers and with success. For good results the roots must get a brown color before cutting hem off. Afer that I plant them and till today they are growing very good. Rakesh

Yes. With any layer, the longer you can wait the better. Impatience usually results in roots that are so tender they break off when put into soil -- even with the sphagnum still attached.

happy to see bunch of roots

Thanks friends
Finally i got a lot of roots on my cassurina
Air lyring.
I air layered in late september and it is december
And the roots are running in the polybag.
Could any one tell me should i go for a cut or not .
The weather is begning to get cold. Temp at present is
19/25 min and max and soon the temp will drop more

They are quite easy to airlayer in my climate! Spring is a good time, as for most airlayers.

That's too early to cut. It needs to be protected and then go past spring into early summer. Then cut and plant. The roots will have time to harden off before next winter. That's what I would do. Our temperatures are mild here. Only sporadic cold fronts during winter.

At last the cutting had been
Planted in the pot. The spring has started
And it willtake time to form new roots in thepot

Designing will be done later.
