Ryan,
I am presuming this is a Willow Leaf Ficus... This answer starts with "what size tree do you want?" Did you defoliate it recently?
I see a nice line in the third photo for a short stocky tree. I don't know how to do virtuals, but the fourth photo shows a good line as well. I usually do my major pruning on Ficus in mid-Summer. Plus, Ficus cuttings are best taken in the Summer as well. Unless you have a greenhouse, I wonder if its too late to do major pruning now.

Thanks Todd! Yes sorry, thought I added that in the title but I must've somehow missed it, it is a Ficus. I defoliated it after it was shipped to me, and it is now starting to leaf back out. I'm not looking to work on it just yet, I'm going to let it recover before any more pruning is done.

I am curious as to what you see in the third photo. I believe I can see the trunk line you're referencing in the 4th photo, though. I don't have a preference in height however, so any size will do. I've got an indoor greenhouse I recently constructed, and all my trees will go into it over the winter.

cut and approach grafting , and 2 possibilities for the head of this tree, that depends of the choice of the front face

Sounds like an interesting idea, but is there any way you can make the picture bigger? A bit too small to see Laughing

Ryan,

you should be able to replace the fine twigging easily. Here goes.
Later.
