Nice bodhi tree bonsai. I wondered if you could use it because it has really big leaves normally.

Wild looking, very cool. I'm trying to get some F. Religiosa seeds to germinate for s&g, but probably wont live to see them be anything worth having if they do sprout Rolling Eyes

Nice material.

Don't do virt using Phempis. you won't get the result you want.

..and if you use only the lower part of the tree the left side tall trunk will rot away, you can't use it as deadwood.

if it were mine I will use all the trunk specially the tall trunk and make a tall looking tree out of it and not a short looking one.

jun:)

I think this tree strangled and killed a host tree in its younger days. In one of the thread here this is what I am discussing, ficus can kill a host tree and take its host form but the tree it consumed will rot away and won't leave a deadwood in it. What will remain are hollowed out "trunk" made of fused roots like this tree.

jun:)

As already mentioned, this is a non-traditional bonsai style but mirrors the natural processes of epiphytic figs that start out life on other trees, strangle them and the host tree dies and rots out leaving an open basket of the fig roots.
Very clever work. I like it.
