Too Late For Maple Chop?
Is it too late in the year to chop a lace leaf maple, leaving no leaves? I think I read where in the hot summer these trees go quasi-dormant. Or in hot shade will there be enough sun energy to produce a strong set of shoots?
I'm in zone 6.
Thanks.

I know when I asked about chopping my japanese maple, its was stressed to also root prune to reduce the bleeding. Which idk how possible that is in mid summer.

midsummer is good time, healing is quick and the tree does not bleed (bleeding occur in winter very early spring when the tree is not in active growth)
