33rd Ohio Regional Bonsai Show
Saturday and Sunday, June 8 - 9, 2013 | 11am - 5pm
The Dawes Arboretum cordially invites you to experience the art of bonsai!
Over 100 bonsai specimens by individuals from central Ohio are on display in the Visitors Center.
Free demonstrations are conducted throughout the weekend as well as a workshop (fee required) for beginners.
Workshop fee is $35 and held from 1- 4pm on Saturday. Registration is required by calling 740.323.2355.
There will be a silent auction of various bonsai related items.
Whether you are ready to start your own bonsai or are advanced in your techniques, you are sure to find the bonsai tools, containers, Japanese art and plants you are looking for.
New fun at the June Bonsai Show!
--View everyday items used in Japan courtesy of a loan by the Institute of Japanese Studies at The Ohio State University.
--Other activities include Gai Koto Jin, preforming music on the koto beginning at 11:30am. The group will give a different kind of koto performance that includes traditional, folk, Japanese and pop music.
-- Watch karate demonstrations outside from 2 - 3pm each day by students of the Sprague Shotokan Karate System and view origami demonstrations.
