Who has been? Empty Who has been?

Good, that they think it can be?

There are some points in the bark around the trunk and made it fat ...

Thought it could be a bug but ...

See if someone wins too!

I usually got that kind of scar after a slight attack of verticillium wilt ( A. palmatum growing in soil).

I'm not sure it's possible to get a "slight" attack of Verticillium wilt.

That said, this appears to be a maple (opposite branches) and the swellings may only be poorly healed scars where branches used to be. You see the same kind of bulge where the branches come out of opposite sides of the "trunk."

The bark is a bit similar to Ficus salicaria. If this is the species you have, maybe the problem is due to larval attack, tetraopes tetraophthalmus.

In the future, including the tree species might help the forum members provide better assistance.

Kind regards,

The one on the left looks like a graft, note the different colours of bark above and below. The one above looks like the branch/trunk has been bent too far breaking the bark and then straightened up again and over time started to heal????????? So as to who has been? Homosapien, can be quite a difficult pest to get rid of. Try luring males of the species away with beer and the females with chocolate. Very Happy

It isn't Ficus. Ficus have alternate branching and leaves.

It's most likely a maple or Viburnum.

It sounds really bad that of verticillium ... if so, I should do?

Indeed, it is an Acer buergerianum but I've seen in a Ulmus pumila (soory I think that I told us).

It Can not be pruning wounds or pruned alambre.Solo some tips of branches

They can not be pruning wounds or wiring mark because I do not wiring and I only prunning small branches on the tip.

And I see this bulge in a trunk and in a branch but not both branches equally...

Sorry for my English, I like that appears hipotesis, I hope to find reliable diagnosis.

Indeed, the tree is this:

Who has been? Dsc7895

It do not a magnificient tree but I do not want it dies or it spreading other trees...

Regards and thanks!

On a more serious note. The straightness of the wounds across the branch and not following the phloem, makes me suspect its not a disease? Could it perhaps be a rodent, such as a squirrel?

Hi,

near my home have not seen squirrels, but...

I think that may be an attack of a fungus, one canker.

My guess also is that it is a canker, a bacterial infection. You may be able to find more information on the Web. The tree may be doomed. Keep it away from your other trees. Prune off the diseased branches. Any dead leaves or pruned off branches, as well as old soil, should be BURNED. Sterilize your tools severely.

Hi,
better late than never, I'm so sorry for the length period without participate, I will try to participate more often but for my English it's a bit hard : )

Finally, the tree it seems that it is healthy and I don't see any mark of a problem.

I followed a table of funigicides like Potassium Phosphite, Propamocarb and Tio Methil Sulfate with a correct plan of feeding and it seems that work well!

Thanks a lot for their answers,

regards from Barcelona!

That will be great.

But don't put it here with the sick trees, put the picture in the Bonsai Discussion forum and we can all cheer.
