PUNICA GRANATUM NANA

Hello,

I bought this tree in 2008 unshaped. Now is 11 years old.
50 cm height

I ask for your opinions, suggestions.

You don't see this species used much as a formal upright or an uninterrupted trunk candle flame style. You have a trunk with very gentle taper so either style will give you something different. If you are going for one of these it would be important to maintain the taper by keeping the upper branches pinched more than the lower ones, also to thicken up the lower branches a bit. There are some opposite branches that may cause reverse taper problems in future.

If you are going for the upright the branches should be kept horizontal and if you go for the candle flame the branches should be bend a little bit upwards.

Because the trunk is so straight, the branches will have to follow.

Best would be to cover up the nebari to keep the roots healthy. Is the potting medium still okay?
