2013 40th UPSTATE NEW YORK BONSAI EXHIBITION

Post  William N. Valavanis on Mon May 06, 2013 12:34 pm

Everyone, near and far, is invited to visit our 40th Upstate New York Bonsai Exhibition on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, 2013 in Rochester, New York. The event will be at the Monroe Community Hospital at the corner of Westfall and E. Henrietta Roads. Rochester's famous Lilac Festival will also be taking place down the road.

Over 100 bonsai from society members will be on display, with a large number of shohin bonsai. Ikebana International will have an exhibit from some of their members as well. AND we have a good size sales area with about 8 vendors.

Admission is only $5, seniors $3.

Also, during the same weekend, the International Bonsai Arboretum is having it's Spring Open House And Sale about 10 minutes away.

Details on request, in the meantime, enjoy some photos from last year's exhibition.

We just finished setting up our 40th Annual Upstate New York Bonsai Exhibition which opens tomorrow, May 19 and runs through Sunday, May 20th. It's held at the Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, New York.

Attached are a few quick shots as I was leaving this evening. Please join us to see some of the finest bonsai in the region. Also, I'm hosting my Spring Open House and Sale on the same days at the International Bonsai Arboretum.

Better photos soon....

I hope to welcome you to Rochester!

Bill

The local chapter of Ikebana International has been invited to display some arrangements. My friend Doug McDade created this stunning ikebana

My garden about a week ago. The long wisteria is now in full blossom over the display wall, and it's quite fragrant as well as spectacular with racemes over THREE FEET LONG!

Come visit Rochester, you will not be disappointed.
