Hi, I'm new to the forum and a novice when it comes to Bonsai's. I have just been given this Green Island Fig which was destined for the tip by its former owner! I am at a loss as to how to approach it in the way of shaping & pruning.....any advice will be greatly welcomed. Very Happy

Thanks

Veronica

I believe it has potential as a jungle tree, with aerial roots and all. I would be looking into three things- high humidity for the aerial roots, letting it grow wild to thicken up the trunk, and later a partial or total defoliation to get some back budding. The back budding will allow cutting back some of those straight branches later.
