Re: KPSB interclub show
My trees at the show (4), Luckily all won in their respective category
Ixora- One of the top ten, best in flowering bonsai category
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel a bit challenge in exhibiting this windswept tree without the kite and background, to see if it will do well without the other stuff...somebody even asked me if I think it will have the same effect without the background and I answered "I will let other people decide on that"
Vitex-Best in windswept category, large penjing awardee
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phempis- Best in medium penjing
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Casuarina
I decided to put this composition on the public show to see and asses from others point of view and it did not disappoint me ...
It produced 3 trophies...hehehe. not bad for a first timer tree huh?
Best in Non Phempis category "GOLD award", Second overall champion, Best in Rock planting, best in cascade
....few more years, this will be a "Phempis killer tree" hehehe. (I hope )
Thanks you IBC for your help and appreciations in these trees, they are producing good results. 4 trees=8 trophies and a gold award...Who wants some beer!!!
regards,
jun

Re: KPSB interclub show
Why the Ixora ? ,
because, l.l.b, when you go to the National Gallery in London, the eyes are only good for about 2 hours or less for simple viewing and even less for contemplation of a single painting.
You have so many beautiful examples, that as I said, I will have to watch over a few days, as I did with the Swindon effort.
The ixora stuck out in my mind [ as did the Tamarind ] because of personal effort. I too, have a yellow ixora, and as usual never are my children as dramatic or as poetic as your children.
How did you like that, snuck in some more praise for you.
As my friend from school days used to say, you should ------------ blush --------- gleam ------------- glow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A little later.

Impressive trees.
How did you provide security (if only from screaming running children) in a shopping mall?

What a great bunch of trees Jun.
Congratulations on the awards. You did a very skillful job preparing them for the show and deserve every one of the trophy's.
That must of been a lot of work, getting all those large trees set up.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Paul

Thank you Paul!
Some people really love huge trees, they collect only the large ones. we have made different kinds of push carts with jack to lift the platform up. Some used pure muscle power.
I did not expect to win anything against those huge trees and I was preparing my trees for a much bigger event on May...just got lucky.
See you next week.

Re: KPSB interclub show
Beautiful trees, thank you for sharing the pictures and congratulations on the awards, they are deserved. The immediate standouts for me are the large Tamarind (first tree pic), the ficus 'texas' on the rock and your medium Pemphis, it was very different from the other Pemphis shown.
Will have to look at them a few more times.....My eyes are full!!
Oh and your semi-cascade Ixora is quite nice too
Regards,
Nigel
