Spring? Really?? Empty Spring? Really??

Post  Guest Thu Feb 14, 2013 7:46 pm

It is in the mid 20F range and night time temp. can fall to low teens. But the buds on some of my trees have not only swelled but started to show green.

Am I the only one? Do others have repotting dilemma in this... winter/spring?

It's sort of SPRING/winter here in South TEXAS.
I've repoted 50 trees over the past 2 weeks.
It's 61 F here today but we've had days into the high 70's
and a few into the 80's.

Same thing here in oklahoma. 50-60s during the day and upper 20s at night. How cold does it have to be for you guys/gals to bring the newly repotted trees inside at night?

Some of the indigenous (forest) trees are showing active bud growth, there are a few with leaves starting to show. The same with the bonsai; especially the Jap. Quince. I am concerned about the maples but will leave them alone. I don't have room indoors for the trees ... or the energy to move them. scratch

Global Warming my friends.... This kind of weather might be unheard of in Chicago at this time of year maybe 15 to 20 years ago.

Global Warming - as the cool weather continues here - 66 deg.F at night 86 by day and extremely windy, humidity down to the low 60's lawn grass going brown and soil cracking.
Very pleasant.

Expecting our 1" [ 2.5 cm ] of Sahara dust next month to re-fertilize the island.

Brrh it's chilly got to go open a window or something.

AND it is dry season ----------- Annie get your kite.

Later oh unfortunates.

Spring in Florida means it's 90 degrees out one day and then 55 degrees the next. You step outside in the morning and wonder what happened overnight.
