Blackout!!!!!!!!

Post  JimLewis on Mon Feb 04, 2013 2:01 am

Well, the world's most boring "football" game just got even more boring. Game suspended because of a power surge. Someone lit the testosterone fuse and BOOM!

Well, I went to bed. Guess the wrong team hung on and finally squeaked by.

Most boring?! Shoot Jim, it's the most watched sports event in the U.S. Laughing

The commercials were decent, and the game certainly improved. I thought it was going to be a blowout, but somehow the 49ers staged a nice comeback.

I usually miss the end of games like this but in this case I watched to the end, I did take a brief nap during half time, screaming half naked women couldn't keep me awake. I woke up just as the blackout began.

it's the most watched sports event in the U.S.

And the most overrated. <g>

Give me a 7-game World Series any time.

Not in my opinion. The last few Superbowls were very exciting.

But a 7-game World Series would be fun to watch too.

Like a Superbowl who's winner is declared "World Champs". At least baseball is played in other countries, such as Japan, Dominican Republic, and quite a few countries in South America, if not all.

Besides, there is a team In Toronto, so it's not just the USA who can win their way into the World Series.

Many of the national teams in other countries -- Australia, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Japan, and I'm sure more -- serve as something like "minor leagues" to our Major Leagues and there are quite a few players from them playing in the majors.

Our "Football" is definitely minor league stuff compared to the worldwide (even, increasingly, in the USA) popularity of football/soccer.
