On a whim yesterday ibought a nursery pot with 4 plants in it.. need spring to come !! question how long does it take for the trunks to become woody not green ???? all have good roots,,i seperated them last night.. take care john

I really like working with schefflera....do you know what the cultivar is? Is it an S. arboricola - the leaves should be fairly small. Regarding the woodiness of the trunks, I am afraid it will take some time for that to occur to the best of my knwoledge. I have been fortunate to have access to older nursery stock with which to work....In that regard I would contact Jerry Meislik (if you google his name his website should come up). If you can't find his address send me a pm.
Here is a variegated small one I have been working on for a few years.....they bud back like crazy and are very forgiving....full sun is appreciated during the growing season.
