Going through the Techno/Philosophical mode.

Seed to Bonsai attempt

Example - Tamarind

[1] Seed -> trunk / base thickness - 6 branches - branchlets - designed shape -> 8 to 10 years.
Mature features sometime after 8 to 10 years -> flower and fruit

[2] Maintainance mode - design to, if needed re-design to design -> rest of life [ Bonsaist or Tree ]

[3] Soil and fertilizer changes - aggressive growing to delicate growth.

So we grow for Beauty [ design ] not for fruit or size [ lumber for example ]

Horticultural health combined with Design.

Interesting to note, for very old Tamarind [ over 1000 years ] seen on Google, tamarinds go from top dominant to short multiple trunks [ more like an octopus or a julie mango tree [ when grafted ].]

However every attempt I have made for a mutiple trunk ends up dead due to weakening when repotted ? I am missing something. [ Multiple trunk , branches from the same point of the cut on the trunk.]

Thinking changing - interesting.

Now I read that at the maintain stage you use a finer soil, to get a greater abundance of finer roots [ more hairs for feeding?] truth or is this something genetic and not influenced by the soil's structure ?
More research needed.

I have altered the mame' soil to finer everything, health is still excellent.

If at the maintain stage, the core of the tree has porous stone and you pie cut when needed, can one shift to tree moss at the 1 or 2 inches [ 2.5 to 5 cm ] removed all around and get excellent results with health?
Why - ease of removal as the repot goes, finer growth, through better root production as in quantity ?
Only questions and more tests.
Thanks for reading.

Hello Khaimraj!
Perhaps I have some kind of evidence for you!
Read here on BonsaiBark some excerpts from a book by Michael Hagedorn. It's worth reading the whole page but what you are looking after is written just underneath the photograph of Mr. Shinji Suzuki and his apprentice, Tachi.
I'm thinking of buying this book. It really sounds so interesting!

Hello Alexandra,

I didn't put a name because, if the idea is incorrect, it would end up with insults, but that is where I read it.
Bought the book on Amazon, about 2 weeks ago.
It will arrive here maybe next week. let you know how it reads.
Thanks.

Khaimraj, the fact that this idea is Mr. S. Suzuki's idea has to have its own weight of validity... Or it has not?
I will wait for your input regarding the book.
Thanks.

Sorry Alexandra,

I will either have to read deeply to find some science research to back this up or prove it myself.
I shall give you a book report.
Later.
