Hi IBC,
This tree was posted in the question forum as a material/yamadori stage, a couple of months ago.

These are the resident monkeys...Perfect scale for my monkeys:

Less than an inch tall: A very thoughtful friend of mine that I met in Malaysia sent me these presents, months after the event and I promised him I'll find a home for his monkeys. He said it is one of his rare collection. Thanks William Koh! William is the master and pioneer of Wrigthia bonsai from Singapore.

Reminds me of our islets in the ocean.Top marks.

The monkeys are all well done and fun, but your work needs no additions.

Jerry,

Thanks!
Still I am not sure of the specie of the tree/plant. I'll look for my old file and post it with flowers and fruits, maybe somebody could identify it.

jun Smile

Justin,

Thanks!
Yes, it is a natural stone/rocks.

I hope you didn't hold your breath that long....

No I don't have an ID yet, Identifying some species I don't have much patience with.

Branches are ramifying easily.

That's the flower and tiny berries.

Even the rear is lovely... Aerial roots just like huge ficus. but this bush got smaller leaves. this is before the design works.
This is just one whole tree.

Hi IBC.

Getting there.
Flowers are non stop now.
Home of the Monkeys Dsc_1419

A more dramatic back is coming out...maybe I have to rethink my design approach, and a possible new front.
Home of the Monkeys Dsc_1420

this species hates an immediate wiring on young branches, So the technique is so let the branches grow thicker a bit before wiring.

Jun

Looking at the flowers and fruit, this tree has to be a species of Clerodendron native to your country. It looks similar to our Clerodendron aculeatum.

Thanks Jose Luis!
I was looking at the "clerodendron", some of the images of the flowers do look the same but the leaves are totally different.
This is a shrub type plant, usually used for landscaping purposes. they don't typically do aerial roots, and just occur as single trunk. I just found this unusual trunk.

I think I found it.

If I am not mistaken, It is "Pavetta lanceolata".
Common "English" name- weeping bride's bush, bridal bush, or Christmas bush.

Jun, its a lovely tree.

I do think that it is Pavetta indica and not lanceolata.

The latter comes form South Africa and we sell it in our nursery, and use it extensively in landscaping in the shade, Its one of the shrubs I love the most.

Pavetta lanceolata's leave is shaped like the name suggests. like a lance, round at the bottom and sharply pointed ant the tip.

Pavetta indica use to be Ixora indica.

Just a thought , I could be wrong.

Love and light
