Ligustrum Clump Empty Ligustrum Clump

Post  wabashene Fri Mar 30, 2012 8:42 am

I see a couple of posts re privet recently.

Here's clump I have been working on for 8 years or so and re-potted recently as the fresh leaves appear to lower it in the pot.

The deadwood was all treated with linseed oil originally but now has a bi-ennial treatment with Clear Ronseal Wood Preservative and it's hard as rock.

You might just be able to make out the Warhammer soldiers under the trees with a predator-like figure sneaking up behind them.

"Look Out behind You!"

:-)

VERY, very nice.

Here's something similar. I've been working on this one for a few years, too. It's not quite done yet.

No. But some are more done than others, and yous is a lot closer to that goal than mine.

Beautiful job! I'm curious about the wood preserver...are you saying that you apply it every other year (biennial)?

Yes Coh this seems to be sufficient, it gets a good soaking though and I use some tissue to catch run off.

the brand I use is Cuprinol actually- not Ronseal.

This is the 1 st time I've ever seen this totally sans foliage

Perhaps something to do with the exceptionally wet weather

Quite a pleasing twiggy appearance.

Will also be a good opportunity to give it a trim

Thanks

Very nice Tim! I think this tree is prime candidate for some further refinement. It would be a daunting task, but I think some pruning and serious wiring could really take this tree up several notches. Good work!
