Re: Raft Larch
What is your reason for having the planting slanted towards the right side? Windsweapt? Or did that right tree had to crawl out from under the canopy of the tree next to it?

Attractive looking than the original. But the tree on the right side seems to be pouring too much.

Re: Raft Larch
I have seen trees grow like that in wooded areas which were hit with tornadoes. I think the image would work best planted on a raised rocky mound, on a slab, with more movement in that leaning trunk. It would also be cool to see that far right leaning trunk rooted near the middle or tip; letting the upright branches develop into more trees.
Nice material.

Re: Raft Larch
I slanted it that way for a number of reasons. First, the far right tree was too thick to make sense with the smaller trees near it so instead of cutting it off I leaned it over. I was following a design I saw by perhaps Saburo Kato. The branches on that tree will develop similar to the raft but without being rooted. I also like it that way. There needs to be a lot of filling in before this tree is developed into what I envision. A rock planting is part of that vision. Thanks.
