I was asked to give a small program on bonsai to my wife's teachers organization. I was working on putting together a couple of nice looking displays and here is one of them. What do you think?

I like it! Is that a GE or a Kenmore? Very Happy
The flowers are very pretty. I would use a dark color gravel on the surface. The white looks contrived.

Is the display being used as an example of a point you are trying to put across?

If it were mine, I'd ditch the folding screen and just go with the tree on its table and the accent plant. The screen (IMHO) detracts from the tree.

Good point, Fiona, I picked the screen up at a yard sale and was anxious to use it. I think I will ditch it. The tree is just one of the trees that I was bringing along as an example. I really don't have any super-looking trees, but hope to be there some day.

Todd - I think it is Whirlpool or LG, but is not part of the display, LOL. It was raining outside and had brought the stuff that I had planned to use in and had it all on the kitchen counter. The top covering is Turface and it had not been wet yet, it will darken up when watered. I have some black lava and may throw a little on to break it up.

Thanks,

John

I think the screen distracts mostly because it is one itm too many in the dsplay. You might use it alone with a tree some time and see if that is any better.

That's a nice azalea. Looks a bit like 'Osakazuki' to me, but I'm no expert.

Thanks Jim, I had been wondering what type it was, I had bought it last year on clearance at Lowe's and the tag was missing. I'll compare pictures of the flowers on the net.

I looked online and it does not appear to be Osakazuki. Here is a close up of the flower:

It's not, leaves are round and the flower's double, and too red. From Lowes it's hard to say. Maybe a Kurume(?)

Yup. No Satsuki (other then, maybe, Gumpo) at Lowes.
