Fruit trees from Florida
I bought three fruit trees from a nursery in Florida and I live in North Carolina. The trees are more like a bush than a tree. I wasn't sure if they would survive the winter, but so far they have thrived! The names of the trees are Calamondin Orange, Meyer Lemon, and Persian Lime. I still have them in the nursery pots, but I want to put them in Bonsai pots. Is there a special way to do this?

its usually not a great idea to go straight from nursery pot to bonsai pot in my opinion...of course this depends entirely on the roots and the size difference in pots...basically, potting down (as it is called) usually needs to be done in stages...
out of curiousity, why put them in bonsai pots? citrus trees arent usually very good bonsia subjects in my opinion...

I was wanting to have different bonsai specimens. I wasn't sure if they would make good bonsai or not, but I thought I'd try. To be honest, I'm not sure what to do with them. I did go and read about them on the internet and they can be grown inside. They can be pruned back after they have lost their fruits.
Thanks for your response.

well...i have only seen a few images of lemon bonsai...ive seen a lot of images of lemon trees potted into bonsai pots and called bonsai though...
here's what it comes down to...you already have them, so if you want to have a go at them, i say go for it...
when life gives you lemons make bonsai i suppose...
have you ever thought about growing them for their fruit? meyer lemons are a hybrid and sweeter than other lemons

I havn't thought about it until now. But, I've been thinking about building a greenhouse and putting fruit trees in there.

build the greenhouse...even if you dont use it for the lemons, they come in handy for many other things, and many other species
as for the meyer lemons, i would suggest trying one...they arent super sour like other lemons...good for seasoning or in iced tea or whatever you use lemons for.
