It should be amazing! The #2 ligustrum is more difficult I guess.

Hello andretoledo,

I am a novice so bear this in mind when you read my post, however, I have kept a privet alive now for 2 years and I have a tiny bit of experience keeping them. I know Privets are very very tough and once you establish them grow beautifully. Feed them heavily and they will respond well. If they were mine I'd want to carve Number 2. I'd try to carve it in such a way that I'd hollow where the trunks divide at the same time creating taper to those trunks that are connected to the main inwardly, but that would be in 5 years time when I have made sure that I have the required branches positioned, set and well tapered. Initially, I'd let the branches grow to a diameter of 1cm before wiring them, this is to ensure they are rigid enough for wiring so that they don't come off the trunk. I would be happy to have those branches growing out at least at some reasonable angle from the trunk and I'd never prune unless I have the required branch girth. Once I've establish branches them I'd look into improving the design by deep carving, even going to the extent of creating a hollow trunk. In growing the branches I would not rub off any buds from the tree just until I am sure that the required branches have establish and the tree has vigor. At the moment I'd just leave the tree to grow for a year and a bit before I do anything while in the meanwhile study the tree with a view of future carving relative to where branches would be. Good luck with your trees andretoledo.

Cheers,
Adam

I agree with you Adam, #2 will need a lot of carving, and I also agree that it's to soon to work with them now, nothing will be done in one or two years from now, I just wanted to know if these trees have any potential and what is that potential for...

I have few experience in bonsai, that is the first time that I work with collected plants and I really don't know what the possibilities for them, that's the why I need ideas. I just hope to have some nice tree from that material in perhaps 10 years. Laughing

As departure is good, but too soon for a virtual. You must cultivate in order at least two years, then what it will give the plant to you, you will be able to make a plan Bonsai.
Good job , regards Daniele Very Happy
