re-potting my mugo Empty re-potting my mugo

Hi,
How do we feel about re-potting a mugo this time of year.
I have worries that there is too much of the original soil still present and it retains too much moisture. I have drilled many large holes to aid drainage, but I feel the trees health would benifit from a re-pot.
I plan to remove a portion and replace it with pumice. A few small slices.
Is this a good idea?
I live in Wales, wet Wales.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Be gentle with me. Shocked

The UK folks will better respond to this, I think. I will say, however, that it depends on how capable you feel you are with babying plants.

Doing something like that now will require an extra bit of TLC on your part from now and through the winter. Can't you put it under a roof or an eve somewhere if there's too much rain, then carefully control how and when it gets water?

the simple answer is,ask steve tolley.no one in england has his expierence with mugo's.Most of the advice you read on repotting these now comes from people with nursery material, very much different from your yamadori, for your info i think the swiss dragon was repotted this spring
