lime sulfur?

any way to preserve deadwood without applying lime sulfur?....im looking for a more natural way

Lime sulfur does very little "preservation." Its fungus-killing ability only last a short time -- weeks, maybe a month or two.

We bonsai people use it as something of a cosmetic improvement to the looks of deadwood -- that's assuming you like the pasty white look of straight LS.

Something like a wood hardener does more of a job of preserving the wood -- but that's scarcely "natural."

coolio thank you =)...so in a carving i could just leave it like that without applying LS?

That's always an option, BUT . . . . some woods do rot quickly and easily. These need some kind of protection. What plant do you intend to carve?

Hint on that. If the tree species you are working on in nature got no natural deadwood, Don't try making one on your tree (Most of the time that is). If the tree you're working on got whitish/greyish color of dead wood in it's natural habitat, use some LS. If it got dark grey color you got to adjust the color. Again this is not a rule on trees, just a basic hint, you can go against the norm too.
