I know this is a bonsai chatline
But I thought I maybe forgiven by those who also love other japanese art forms. Today we had our Chrysanthemum show along with an ikebana display. Hopefully you might appreciate a change of pace. I'll only post a couple but I have more if anyone is interested.

Very nice.
Beautiful flowers, so different from the wild species they derived from.
Did you see any Chrysanthemum bonsai at this show? Or maybe some cultivars with woody stems, that could be used that way. Did they show any trained as cascades?

None were done in bonsai, tho some of the charms could have been easily used. for those not familar with the term, charms are the smalles flowers and scale well with bonsai. there were two cascades but they did not look worthwhile in photographing them.

yes, they really are!
the vase on this ikebana is very old and really beautiful with it's impression of a spider mum.
