Part 2 up now. Man, I could've uploaded 3 score more awesome photos, but I think these do the job. If you get a chance to visit any of these gardens, DO! Everyone was worth the time.

Thanks Ryan for sharing your link. Very inspiring and great web. One day I might hit the road and see some of it in real.

Drooling over Part 2! Thank you for sharing this tour. I am amazed about the Kennett Collection, wow! There must be a large crew to maintain those trees.

I am also in awe of the Kenneth collection!

I would love to visit it but is it open to the public at all?

Thanks guys, it was a hell of a trip! I only included the Bonsai related material, but we had a
Good time all around! Lots of good food, great bonsai, and friends, new and old! While the photos are nice, nothing compares with an in person view of these nurseries. The Kennett Collection was straight up overwhelming, and seeing the trees that Bill has lovingly maintained and grown over 50 years...pretty special. The documentation of Bills Bonsai through the ages is something cool to see as well!

Very enjoyable virtual tour! Thanks so much for taking the time to put that together. I'm fortunate to live less than 30 minutes from Bill's place and have been there many times...have also made a couple of visits to Nature's Way, great fun looking through all those collected trees. The rest of the places are now on my list of things to do...

I sure didn't, but creating large bases with taper on crepe myrtle is no different from any other deciduous tree. Sacrifice branches and free, unhindered growth.

Ryan,
I keep going back to your blog to see the trees! Such beauty, such eye candy, something to aspire to.
I like your comment about the collected juniper and "The Scream"; I see it.
Thanks again,
Todd

Hey Todd, thanks for reading, it was a pleasure to share this trip with the community. The Scream is actually a yew, I believe, and I'll be damned if it's not "Lenz-esque", if not simply Lenz.
