Hey folks,

images to come. I have been testing pre-made shapes from India, objects made from soapstone and with a little carving, made into Bonsai pots.
Easy to do and then I fire them, in preparation for glazing.
I will add a few images later.

Apologies, work load is high in reality land.

Cutting in the lip and preparing for the feet. Raw soapstone was some sort of decorative container 4 l x 3 w x 1" [ 10 x 7.5 w x 2.5 cm ]

Rough cut for feet and bottom lip - chip on upper lip was there before not me.

When I get further, I will send more.
Comments yay or nay are fine.

Hello Alexandra,

soapstone is a very friendly material to carve, soft yet firm and can be fired to very hard, and then glazed.

Got the idea from the Ancient Egyptians [ steatite is it and Egyptian paste. http://64.60.141.195/photos/33thumbs/87280.jpg]

Hope this helps,
