Hi,
Bob Hill has asked me to post this for him.
"Unfortunatly I have no photos of this larch prior to my initinal styling, so I have sketched from memory it's appearance as it was when I obtained it.
Thanks to Graham Potter, We now have a very early picture of the larch.
The tree must have been grown out for a season or 2 before Bob obtained it.

The tree was very weak and in dire need of somecorrective work. The branches were very long and growing upright with wispy fragile pale green needles.I was unable to re-pot,(wrong time of year), so Icleaned out the top and introduced 2" of freahsoil down into the roots. I gaveit a feed and sorted out the branch structure. This royaly did the trick. The tree is now showing signs of good health. I shall re-pot it in the spring, (same pot), at a more upright angle."
Having refined the dead wood a little today at Dragon's Sunday's workshop, here are a few pictures.

Hi Jerry (Closet Bob)

I know that Bob has worked hard on building the foliage pads and (despite the photography) there is good depth between the branches and not just a 'green triangle' atop a wonderful trunk, the bonsai looks great... but in real life a stunner... bit like Fiona Shocked

The Welsh hills are alive with the Sound of Makitas? La La La La ...

Wow !!

I've always wished I could grow Larch!! Beautiful material...it has ALL the things I cherish in bonsai;

Movement
Balance
Taper
Depth
Health
And a little bit of Mystery !

Please keep us up to date on this one.

I know Tony would bend over backwards to help us improve our trees, and pirates have some very strange initiation ceremonies, but ... Oh ...
Ok, misread it ... So is that why the Brown cow serve it on draft? Twisted Evil
