samanea saman

Hello, is anyone here familiar with the samanea saman also known as the alizia saman or monkey pod raintree? I would appriciate as much information as i can get but i do have two main questions, is this species good for bonsai, and is it a tropical just like the pithecellobium tortum? Thank you!

Jake,

it is a tropical tree, and you can Bonsai it, but you must either keep it as a mame' or grow it to a trunk size of around 5"
and then select up to 6 branches to work with.
The leaves make up for the low branch density.

You can end up with the typical shape of a samaan, but it will test your patience.
Loves sun and fertilizer.
Easy tree to grow ---- in the tropics.
