Wow! Can you give us a Latin name? I have no idea what it is, but I LOVE it!

Now that looks like a majestic old oak tree! Beautiful.

I'd also like to know what kind of tree that is...

Russell - I'm pretty sure Cram's tree is Phillyrea Latifolia. Certainly Phillyrea. Cheers.

How large is it? Hard to do meaningful virtuals at this stage of the game, but look at Russel's live oak boxwood thread for ideas on the likely goal -- at least if I had this guy.

Just to add - it is commonly known as "green olive" and is a Niwaki favourite. Also been used by Walter on vids for bonsai.

Literally - "garden trees". But more readily understood by us in the West as "sculptured trees" or even "topiary". We know the results of this technique as "cloud trees", sometimes - but other shapes are created. Smithy has some good'uns in his garden.
Would have liked it to be "Star Wars" ref., Jim - much more imaginative than me!! Cheers.

Live oak was what my first though too, as in "God, that looks more like a live oak than most live oaks I've seen!!"

Rick, if you say Phillyrea that sounds good to me. I know nothing about that genus.
