So tell! Wink

One thing I would do is clean up some of the exposed roots, looks like there is a better base hidden under...then add more soil to bury most of them. Repot come spring.

Hard to tell about the branches if it need wiring. From the pics it looks like they are well placed. Looks like it needs a lot more ramification. If it can be induced to bud back, I would chase some of the branches back slowly but never worked with Kingsville so I am not sure.

it is a nice tree indeed mabye try to wire down the right root that in the air on your next repot use some fish tank air hose tubing and put the wire through it to keep the wire from sacring the bark and plant it a bit deeper .

I think is has both sides, the age/bark/trunk base and beginning of the branch structure...That is very nice! What above that, i think is a bit far away, green at the edges. I would like the green matching the nicer 'lower part' in a better way, so my hope for you is that you'll have splendid backbudding in the next few years. What kind of techniques you will use, or if that is your plan, i dont know.

Please notice alsof that boxwood is not my favorite anyway :-)

I have one similar to your great looking tree. I have discovered a few things in the decade or so of having it. In Maryland anyway, my Kingsvilles dont like the sun much. They thrive in part sun. They do like a good feeding, but have not seen better results with more food.
Regarding ramification, yours has very good and even foliage. They do tend to get very dense and block the sunlight from getting down inside, which hampers foliage development and backbudding. Try to thin out the outer "shell" of foliage. I thinned mine substantially then put it back in the ground and it rebounded well.
Realize that they are very slow growers, and the established branches that you have are decades old and will be brittle, so be careful trying to wire them too much.

Lordy your tree is wonderful as well. Great job getting it to back bud and the new foliage looks very healthy.

I like what you did but had this been mine, I probably kept more of those nice branches you had to begin with. Thin the branches a bit & shorten some then build ramification. It is just my personal preference though.

Looking at your 2nd pic made me feel like sitting under a giant tree actually.
