Don Ziemann
For very old-time members of the IBC (back into the mailing list days and early WWW) you may recall Don Ziemann. Carl Rosner sent me a note today that he died July 10 of pneumonia acquired after breaking his hip.

Re: Don Ziemann
Sad news Jim.
Condolences to those he left behind
I'm not that much of an Old Timer and remember Don and his Grape Vine bonsai well.
I got the impression that he enjoyed the wine as well
I see the website is down unfortunately but there is a couple of pics here for anyone who may wish to have a look.

Thanks, Tim. The site seems to be up now. Good to see those trees again.

Ah yes, I remember him well. A good-natured guy who enjoyed the grape, and willows, if I remember correctly.
May he rest in peace.

Re: Don Ziemann
Sad news. I have several grape bonsai in development as a result of his posts from years past.

I remember Don well and having a discussion about the merits of Grape bonsai, he said... if the tree don't turn out well there is always the wine! I remember too he had a lot of Zinfandel bonsai...

Don readily shared his growing techniques for grape cuttings and bonsai. Condolences to his friends and family.
