I'm definetely fascinated with display. I'm working on how i can take it outside to incorporate in my bonsai benches. here where i live, cold and wet has been a daily part of living so far this spring and summer.

So I talked with our local potter and had him make me some glazed black jittas in varying shapes and sizes.
( the brown one is the undersides ) This way if it rains while I'm away, i'll not have to worry about the exposure.

comments?

Great idea but I think I would go with unglazed or at least a less glossy glaze.

A good idea Dick.

Ritta and I have many ceramic "jiita" in our collection, largely used for displaying kokedama on.

I'm also a display slave...
I love them, at first I thought they were a little kitch, but it works with the plants on them, an being outside.

I went to a local granite shop and asked them for some scraps. They were not sure about giving them to me, until I explained why exactly I wanted them... Then, no problem. Nothing too fancy, but they do make the plants on my bench look a bit nicer.
