Since he does not have copyright on the pictures, he probably shouldn't do that here.

It's true that copyright laws are complex. I don't want to take the risk.
Then, see scan pictures are not very interesting.
The dimensions of the book are 21 cm / 30 cm, there is often 1,2 or more pictures on one page (very esthetic page setting).
Believe me, it's really a "beautiful book".....

Who is the publisher? If Amazon carries it you may be able to see some of it there.

It's Matsuura Arishige himself who send me this book. You must send him a mail (matsuura@suieki-assn.gr.jp), the cost is 10000 Yen (book price + send cost). 10000 Yen = 93 euros.
It's a publication of the Nippon Suiseki Association, editor : OTSUKAKOGEI-shinsha Co Ltd Tokyo.

Matsuura Arishige's book Empty Re: Matsuura Arishige's book

When the book was first recommended on IBC (October 11), its price and distribution were uncertain.

Mathias's advice is mostly consistent with the webpage that now advertises the book internationally-- see Mr. Matsuura's Suiseki website. Bill Valavanis doesn't list it among publications available through his website, but it might be available through him (I will ask); service from Bill is prompt & reliable. Mathias paid a slight premium (perhaps 4%) to Y10,000 when sending an International Postal Money Order (IPMO)-- it is a very reasonable cost for money exchange (franc to yen). What Mathias paid is equivalent to ~$125 US plus the slight cost of an IPMO.

His website notes to email Mr. Matsuura in English (probably handled by the book's translator/adapter Wil Lautenschlager) at the address matsuura@suiseki.jp. Note that this address differs from Mathias's earlier recommendation-- try either or both. Mr. Matsuura offers a discount for bulk purchases. Previously, discounts applied to purchases of at least 10 copies (better individual price) and 50 copies (best individual price), and perhaps that is still the case.

There are very few extraordinary books on suiseki in English. This is among the best in photo & text content. It was published in Japan in a small edition (1000) including a modest slipcase, so do not be surprised at its expensiveness relative to binding & number of pages. The website describes it clearly.

Bill Valavanis is selling Mr. Matsuura's book (thanks Jose!) & notes:
... there is a complete book review and ad in the 2010/NO. 3 issue of International BONSAI. The current postpaid price is $150.
