I just recieved a well established Japanese Larch in a three gallon pot; it has not, from the looks of it, ever been styled. I am so itching to just give it a little bit of a clip just to get a clearer picture ofJapanese Larch/pics added Larch_17 whats going on under all that lovely fuzz. Thanks a bunch.
Japanese Larch/pics added Larch_19 I love you

Japanese Larch/pics added Empty Japanese Larch/ pruning

Leave your pruning and styling until late Winter/ early Spring. Firstly the neeles will have dropped, so you can see what your doing and secondly any damage through bending, will heal quicker in the Spring. As Todd says, post some pics.

Until James gets his pictures up and running, here is a little linguistic snippet which came out in a conversation with one of my Murrican friends and may interest some: in the US the phrase James has used means along the lines of "thanks a lot" or even stronger "thanks a million" and meant genuinely. Over here in UK it is almost invariably used ironically or sarcastically. Two nations...

It seems that in the US, the tone of the phrase is all important. "Thanks a bunch" in particular does seem a bit sarcastic, though. "Thanks a lot!" can be either very genuine Very Happy , or dripping with snide sarcasm Rolling Eyes depending what tone of voice is used.

OK, enough with the OT stuff. Thanks a bunch, Fiona!! Wink
