Me.

The over wintered bags of both potting soil and pine bark nuggets were found to contain active phytopthora spores after several tests were done at box stores by horticulturalists from somewhere that I can't remember. I know they mentioned it was mostly in bags that were kept outdoors over winter and thus sat there saturated.

The presence of plant pathogens in potting mixes and composted organic components used in potting mixes is extremely common. These pathoganes are no threat if appropriate air filled porosity is maintained. Many plant pathogens require anaerobic conditions to penetrate the roots.

RPS, I can probably use about 60-70% by volume. There are some larger chunks that I screen out as well as some fines.
