Hinoki cypress

Post  s.jones on Tue Jun 26, 2012 1:19 pm

Living in Naples,Fl is hard to find a hinoki cypress at a nusery. Is there any other upright cypress trees that can survive this sub tropical weather? There are limited nurseries down here, so I want get the names of other trees so I can call nurseries instead of running all over town. I want to turn a cypress into a formal upright position. Any species suggestions? Steve

I can't imagine a Hinoki Cypress surviving in Naples. Why not try a Casuarina? They're very versatile and can be asked to emulate most needled evergreens.
