ulmus japonica "niré" crazy
Hello I show you a work over 9 years, a plantation of elm of Japan in full earth(ground), in fact two plantations welded together which(who) I let grow during 5 years with the ligature, then put in jar to make the construction, it is a project with a very strong graphic shape.
and my virtual
you can see the construction
and today after 4 years, crazy crazy

Vev,
I like your elm very much! You have done a very nice job IMHO. The bark is beautiful I like your choice of pot; the lion heads add drama to the tree. I wonder if the pot is too small for the size of the root ball. I understand that this is bunjin, but I think a slightly wider pot will make the tree happier and look more stable.
Best,
Todd

Very nice Vev,
I was expecting it to become a literati, as the trunk movement suggested one. but, your design solution is equally good. can you show us a picture of the tree at eye level? I really like the movement of that trunk.
regards,
jun

Ulmus japonica "Nire"
The correct name is Ulmus parvifolia, Chinese elm. There is an Ulmus davidiana var. japonica, but the leaves are a different shape. Nire is the Japanese word for elm.

Re: ulmus japonica "niré" crazy
pas de problem, en fait j'utilise un traducteur automatique qui semble bien mauvais...sorry
Not of problem, in fact I use an automatic translator who seems very bad.
comme la blague: un élève sonne à la porte, "bonjour c'est bien ici les cours d'anglais pas chers", le prof lui repond en lui faisant signe d'entrer: "if if, beetwen!"

very interesthing elm, actually I like the pot, I think if you keep the amount of positive spaces below you would need a bigger pot, but if it thins out it may be fine. anyway good nobel design I like it

Actually I agree with that too, if the foliage is thinned out then the pot is fine.
